Privacy
Kuida keeps as little as it can, for as short a time as it can. This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other sites.
What we keep while you use Kuida
- Your WhatsApp number, nickname and language.
- Your safe word and pressure word, stored scrambled (hashed) so nobody, including us, can read them.
- Your contacts' names and WhatsApp numbers, and whether they agreed.
- When your check-ins started and ended, and a record of the alerts we sent and whether they were delivered.
What we keep only for a short time
- Your check-in note and location pin. They're deleted when you check out. If an alert goes out, they're kept with the alert so your contacts can see them, then deleted within about a day (25 hours at most).
What we never do
- Track your location.
- Sell or share your data, or use it for advertising.
- Send your messages to an AI system. Kuida's replies are fixed messages.
Who sees it
- Your contacts see only what's in an alert: your nickname, the time, and any note or location you chose to add.
- Our messaging providers, Twilio and WhatsApp (Meta), carry the messages and calls.
- Obsedian Systems LLC runs the service. Access is limited to running and fixing it.
What we can't delete
- Messages already in your WhatsApp chat or your contacts' chats. You can delete those in WhatsApp.
- Copies our messaging providers keep under their own rules.
Deleting your data
- Send DELETE in the Kuida chat to delete your account, contacts and history. If a check-in is active, check out with your safe word first. If an alert is in progress, it finishes first and your account is then deleted automatically, within about an hour. You can also email hello@kuidame.app.
- Contacts can send STOP to stop being a contact.
